Credentials issuance and verification can be cumbersome for businesses and institutions, and clunky for their customers. Often it is centralized and under the control of certain agencies and organizations, some of which use archaic, paper-based management solutions. This is costly, inefficient, insecure and unsustainable.

Building a web and mobile frontend that interacts with Cardano's blockchain. Utilizing DID’s (Decentralized identifiers), the platform stores digital certificates as metadata attached to messages that are signed from well known Credential Issuers.

Traditional centralized digital identity systems pose a number of risks such as identity theft, data breaches, data harvesting, and fragmentation. Atala PRISM overcomes these problems by giving more control to individuals and institutions, rather than relying on one single entity.
